GIBSON Motorsports

Gibson Motorsports is a proud, family-based race team with a long history of competing throughout Ontario and the North-Eastern United States.  Piloted by the father and son duo of Larry and Scott Gibson, the apple certainly did not fall too far from the tree for this pair.  Scott grew up at the race track while watching his father compete with race-prepared Corvettes in Solo 1 and Solo 2 in the early 1980’s and later, at circle tracks with the Ontario Vintage Modified club.  After Larry’s retirement from racing, the focus shifted to Scott, who competed in go-karts and mini-sprints before graduating to the late model division at Flamboro Speedway.

 

2015 will mark a return to competition for the team, after remaining on the sidelines for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.  A season-ending wreck at Flamboro’s Oktobefest in 2012 kept the team away from the track but the car has been repaired and is ready for a return to competition.  During the lay-off, the team filled their need for speed by participating in Solo 1 (Auto-Cross), Solo 2 (Time Attack) and high performance driving events (HPDE).  Applying their learnings from the Pro Late Model, the team has designed and built a Pro Touring 1966 Studebaker and has entered the inaugural Ontario 1500 Motorsports Adventure that will take place during September 2015.
